Recently Layne signed up a new Sponsor and when I went to their website I saw they were offering to Parkerize a Mauser (any type), 1911 or Mosin Nagant (1891/30, m38, m44, etc) for only $75. I had picked up a Spanish FR-8 carbine that had a great bore, shot very well, but had seen some wear. The original Parkerize finish was completely gone in some places and there was visible rust. Knowing a great deal when I see one I packaged up my carbine and shipped it off.

A couple of weeks later my FR-8 came back home looking very different then before. It now has an excellent dark Parkerized finish over 100% of the surface and all of the rust is gone. Now I am going to have to work on the stock and pick up a new sling. I think I might just have me a "new" camp carbine. :)
